Fitment Procedure

- Take note of the original bearing fitment, before removing the driveshaft. Scribe around the unit to mark its exact position.

- Many bearings fail as a result of bent or imbalanced shafts, or binding splines or universals. Any such problems must be rectified prior to re-installation

- Heavy press fit should not be required. If force is required to remove a failed bearing, carefully check the shaft for damage.

- Drive bearing evenly making contact with the inner ring only, using a suitable driving collar.

- Ensure the new bearing is fitted in the same position as original – pushed up squarely against the driveshaft shoulder and that it turns freely when assembly is complete.

- Bolt the unit to the chassis in the exact position as the original unit, as marked in the first step above. The rubber should not be distorted once assembled.

- If in doubt, loosen the unit and re-tighten to the body/chassis when the vehicle is parked on flat, level ground.
